Of course, I had to miss all the fun over at Jason's blog with the voting and the announcements of contest winners.
I think I managed to read about 20 entries, missing the winner's entry naturally. However, if you want to read quality and see what good writing is all about, I suggest you check out the winner - Jimmy Crick by Elisha Bridges (pen name). I was floored when I read it!

It really was a fantastic contest and I loved Jimmy Crick a lot, too. Looking forward to the next with Anne Frasier.
Happy Belated Canada day. We were in NOTL and spent some time at Friendship Festival.
Hi Melly,
Thanks for that recommendaiion that was a fine read. It made a lovely story in my head.
How fun, Flood.
I haven't checked the next contest yet, but it sounds exciting.
Liz, glad you liked it. I really believed this one was just a whole class above the rest.
I really believed this one was just a whole class above the rest.
I did too! ;)
Thanks for the mention, Melly! I do hope to see you in the next one (late August).
There was no doubt about it, Jason. I haven't gotten around to reading 2nd or 3rd place, but I read at least 20 stories. Most were very good, but Jimmy Crick was just a cut above.
Re August - I hope I will too :)
Wow, I hadn't even heard of that contest --- but I followed the link that was AMAZING!
WOW!
Kat, glad you liked it as much as I did, and too bad you missed the contest.
Remember, next one is in August.
