Flash Fiction Contests Around the Blogosphere

  • Jason Evans over at The Clarity of Night has a real short flash contest. Not a drabller (100 words), but close - 250 words. Any genre goes but it has to be based on a picture he posted in the contest announcement.
    Jason even offers prizes.
Oh, and if you're curious, I'm entry #5 - The Highest Point

  • Fred will be hosting the next Taste of the Darkness Carnival (that's number 3). This is a themed horror carnival although there is no theme this time around. Submissions are due by June 28th, 2006. Horror flash stories around 300-1000 words.

  • And the WBA is joining in on the carnival frenzy. A sci-fi story of 250-1000 words is due by July 1st. The theme is Outer Limits. WBA Flash Sci-fi Carnival.
These are so much fun, you'd better try them out.

I thought your entry in Midnight Road was eerie and great.

Loved how Lydia could see something was going wrong but not process it.

Thanks for the reminder about ToD. I keep forgetting to keep track of it.

Thanks, Flood.
Did you seriously remember the character's name? You're good!

So yeah, ToD and don't forget to check out the WBA, if not for the contest, then to join.

I loved your story, Melly. :) Those people sounded like they were high on something . . . or perhaps under some spell.

Thanks Deborah.
My husband thought she was a dog (?) and your take on it is definitely more along what I had in mind. It's the last time I let him read anything!
(Until next time, that is ;)

I'm planning on taking part in at least two of these carnivals. An ambitious idea for someone who has yet to get started on either of these projects.

Kewl!
Aren't these just a whole lot of fun?!

rut roh raggy,,,,, I was guilty of the dog mistake too the first time i read it,,,,,but but but,,,,,before you put me in the dog house with him,and stop me from reading more Consider this. It was Kash(my dog) that gave me a "hey stupid i have paws and cant OPEN windows!" look that helped clue me in before i read it the second time. That punishment may be right just for me(and your hubby) but certainly isnt fair to the dog.

INKcogKNEEdough, alas, as many writers do, I too need someone to read my stuff. My "threat" (if it is indeed taken as such) is utterly toothless!
And thanks :)
