Oh, Canada - Women Hockey Team Wins Gold

I couldn't do much yesterday. First I was too nervous, then I watched, then I was ecstatic! And how!

This team is the best hockey team I've ever seen, men or women. They're amazing.

Thank you - Charline Labonté, Kim St-Pierre, Gillian Ferrari, Becky Kellar, Carla MacLeod, Caroline Ouellette, Cheryl Pounder, Colleen Sostorics, Meghan Agosta, Gillian Apps, Jennifer Botterill, Cassie Campbell, Danielle Goyette, Jayna Hefford, Gina Kingsbury, Cherie Piper, Vicky Sunohara, Sarah Vaillancourt, Katie Weatherston, Hayley Wickenheiser, ,Delaney Collins, Sami Jo Small and head coach Melody Davidson.

I just hope the men took notes...

Without words:

Go Canada (men.)

Seriously. I hate our (American men's) team. In a rare departure from my Olympic spirit--where I usually root for EVERYBODY--I root against the American team.

Anyway, I thought it was cute how one of the Canadian women players had her little boy on the metals' stand with her.

Pat, Hayley Wickenheiser had her son with her also four years in the Salt Lake City olympics when Canada also won gold and her boy was about one-year-old back then. I know, it's really sweet and she's a wicked player.

Congratulations! :)

I missed the hockey, but saw the luge, snowboarding and ice skating on Friday night. The Winter Olympics have always been my favorite.

Frankly, I found the women's hockey far less exciting than in Salt Lake. Canada was simply too good.

Just finished watching the guys play the Czechs, though. Looks like they're playing a little better, I just hope they come through with a big one tomorrow.

Thanks Deborah :)

(Oh, and Pat, thanks for the well wishes for the men).

Cavan, I know what you mean. In Salt Lake they had the US women team and it was exciting. But that's why I said I thought it is one of the best teams ever, if not the best team ever.

And obviously, Garry, you have class.

So what's wrong - did it hurt you, bug you so much to see them celebrate? To see the pictures here? I know your kind - misogynistic - and I have no time for sexists.

Canada has nothing to apologize for. They were the best team, too good to be true.

I didn't know it was possible to delete one's own comments here? I don't think it can be done on my blog site, cheese cheese! I can't delete comments I've left on someone else's blog... not because I've had any particular need to do so; I just thought it would be a good idea to check it out. So far I've not found any instructions allowing me. Perhaps it just makes me even more careful what I say, LOL!

Diddums, he pretty much repeated them (in a less colourful way) on my etiquette post.
Yes, I think deleting comments is a blogger thing. So if you sign in and post with your user name then you can delete them. I haven't seen the deleting options other places.

Congratulations! Canada has done very well in several events, and I'm pleased for your success.

(I do wish you hadn't eliminated the USA Men's Curling team, but I also wish you'd been able to advance further--those darn Italians are coming out of the woodwork. You'd think they were enthusiastically hosting or something.)

Good luck with the rest.

Thanks Jean, same here.
It was devastating for Canada to have the men eliminated in Hockey, and unfortunately, the American men hockey team was eliminated as well. No representation in the that event from our continent :(
But all in all pretty good and not complaining :)

But the good news is, both our men won in curling--you took gold and we took bronze (I missed that we'd only been elminated from competition for the gold but were still in the running for bronze.)
High five!
