Smoking Reduces Fertility and Intelligence

Maybe some of you figured out already that the fight against cancer is close to my heart.
So if getting cancer doesn't convince you to stop smoking maybe higher sterility and lower intelligence would as this Smoked Sperm article brings about new research.

Other science news in the article: the FDA approved the first transplant of fetal neural cells to human brains, oxygen on the moon, the rate of fatal drug overdose among people 40 or older has doubled, and more.

I've always assumed people who smoke have a lower IQ, myself included, until I quite that is. Though perhaps the damage was already done. :)

Don't tempt me with the damage done bit. It would be too easy ;)

I know what you mean. I was chuckling to myself as I was reading this thinking that if smoking reduces intelligence then smolers would never understand they should quit with the reduced intelligent, and besides, they're weren't that intelligent in the first place if they started smoking.

Yes, I started smoking at 16! Definitely not one of the more intelligent choices in my life... I quit about 10 yrs later.

I think I was about 13 when I started smoking (around the same time I started drinking too) and finally stopped when I was about 22

Hm, there wasn't much for kids to do where I grew up.
