Please Allow Me to Introduce...

Kate.

Kate has just started blogging (on Friday I believe) and her blog about art and writing is already full of interesting stuff:
- A fractal with a scientific meaning in Black Hole
- A very personal post and a painting in Paintings
- An inspired poem in Day Dreaming
- A little eastern philosophy in The Life Color Mandalla

Here is what I know about Kate:
Kate is first and foremost an artist. She paints. Always have.
Kate writes - a little prose but mostly poetry.
Kate is a philosopher. She studied mostly western philosophy, but also some eastern philosophy. She also studied a lot of religious philosophy and Kaballa long before Madonna's virgin stint.
Kate's love for science is contagious. She is never one to say 'I don't know.' When I used to ask Kate a question, encyclopedias would open until she found the answer.

How do I know so much about Kate?
If you go visit her, you'll understand...

Daughter introduces her mom to blogging. Very heart-warming :-)

Thank you for sharing your mom's link with us, Melly. :) I enjoyed looking at her paintings.

This is a special moment.

When a mother brings forth an image of her daughter. She used her hands to see you. The colors were mixed to get just the right colors for your hair and skin.

You are a lucky star in a field of asteroids.

Thank you all.
Yes, I feel lucky indeed. I was always one of those weird teenagers who wasn't "angry" with her parents...

That's really a great painting of you your mother did. Did you in fact introduce her to blogging?

If I were to do the same thing, MY mom would blog about Clay Aiken.

Melly said...

Yes and no. She had little web sites for years, and once I told her about my blog she liked the idea. Much easier.

Clay Aiken? Oh boy... ;)

Aw, it's blogging nepotism. Hee, hee.

Now, of course, we will be privy to all the embarrassing little things you did as a child. [wink]

Thank God my mom doesn't have a blog.

I know what you mean... ;)

After reading your posts about your mom, as always I was LMAO, I understand why you might not want to [double wink]

How very cool! My mother refuses to get on a computer, let alone blog! It IS a great picture of you, and this is a great post... your relationship sort of shines through in the tone.

Gosh, Melly,
So many would give anything to have such a relationship with their mother. What a beautiful thing to see. The portrait is gorgeous as well.

Thanks Liz. You changed your picture. Nice one :)

Melly,

I visited your Mom's site. Very lovely. I asked her how she made those fractal paintings. Is she your inspiration to appreciate art and to write?

Thank you ObilonKenobi :)

Both my parents are very artistic and both love science.
(I know so far I've only said about my dad that he used to tell jokes, but he's also a photographer).

I guess, come to think of it that it is from them, but also from my sisters and from friends with interest in the matter. Believe it or not, but our group of friends when I was a teenager, used to go to museums together (I mean, we also got drunk and all that, but we also did those things).
