Canadian shocker: Beer is booze of choice

When it comes to spending bucks on booze, beer wins hands down in Canada.

Statistics Canada says that as usual, beer was by far the most popular beverage in terms of dollar value, capturing 50.7 per cent of sales compared with 24.7 per cent for spirits and 24.6 per cent for wine.

This use of our tax dollars is only slightly less offensive than when the government gave a $5000 grant to that guy who made art out of twigs and decomposing rabbits.

I know. Meanwhile, meds desperately needed by cancer patients or other patients aren't funded, and this is just one example.

Cavan, it's high time us Canadians also started complaining about our gov't and taxes around here too.
